The entrie period for the 6th BSG Singing Competition has come to a close. This time we had a total of 65 entries, and I cannot wait until December 6th and 7th to finally listen to all of them with everyone else live on stream. All of the solo prizes were unlocked, and we also got enough entries to have seperat good and bad category streams. The only prize we didn’t fully unlock was the duets, but more on that below.

Detailed Streaming schedule and notes

Since we got over 40 total entries…by quite a bit …we are once again doing two streams for the 6th singing competition. This means there will be a stream just for the good category solo songs on December 6th, and a second stream the next day for all duets and the solo bad category on December 7th. Both of these streams will kick off at 5:00pm eastern, and both will be on the BSG Twitch.
Important note on the duets:
Since we didn’t get enough bad category duets to fully unlock dual prizes all duets will be played together on day 2. Once all duets are played, then we will dive into the solo bad category songs. This is so we can hold off on opening up the alcohol until all good songs have been played. Once we play the last good category song, then it is time to let down the hair and have a party with bad music to close out the streams!
We are allegedly only giving away $580 of the potential $600 prize pot between these two streams, but who knows what other things will happen by the end of day two. The prize break down is below.

1st place in both categories $100.
2nd place in both categories $75.
3rd place in both categories $50.
4th place in both categories $25.
5th place in both categories $15.
one $20 duet prize…
two $10 wildcard prizes.
one $10 chat’s choice prize.

On Friday after we listen to all the good entries we won’t be announcing the good category winners directly. All winners will be announced on Saturday’s stream after we have listened to every song in the competition. This means all good category, bad category, duet prizes, Wildcard prizes, and chat prizes will be announced at the end of the Saturday stream. The reason we are doing it this way is so the bad category participants have a view carry over from the first stream. They may be bad at singing, but they still are putting their all in for this competition, so make sure you come to both streams and show some support for everyone in both categories.
I have the email for everyone who submitted, and all winners will be contacted via that email. You don’t have to be present in the chat of the stream to claim your prize, you will be contacted no matter what. You should be there though , chat can really fall in love with some of the songs people sing, and you could be the submitter of one of those songs.
We won’t be judging people based on their recording quality, but their performance. This doesn’t mean sounding exactly like the original, but putting on a memorable and outstanding performance for the chosen song and giving the listeners that emotional reaction to your abilities. This doesn’t mean the song has to be emotional itself, but that the performance has to be great, believable, memorable, and outstanding.
If all goes to shit at the end, and me and Hannibal have to fight it out to award the prizes. We may lean on the opinions of chat, so make sure to make your opinions heard, but try and be respectful of those in the good category who are putting themselves out there for everyone to hear.

We clearly cannot listen to any submitted covers until the streams on the 5th and 6th, but listening to the originals is perfectly okay and encouraged. If you want to know what is coming up on the streams and what to expect you can use either the YouTube or Spotify playlists below. I did everything in my power to make these as accurate as possible, but not all songs are on both platforms.
Note on playlists: On the YouTube site you cannot save content made for kids to a playlist, so some songs will be missing from the YouTube playlists. All songs will be on the Spotify and m3u playlists still.

Special Performances Just For The Streams

Note: We originally had a double duet, or what some may call a quartet planned for myself, Hannibal, Sarah Joyce and Fable, but due to unforseen issues we had to make a change to the plans. Me and Hannibal are going to be doing two duets, and I’ll be doing a duet with Sarah Joyce as well.
Since we are splitting the competition between the two streams, we’ll also be splitting the special performances. BlurrySito and Jeson Cataluña are The two winners from the 5th Singing Competition, and since they cannot enter this one they are going to be singing a duet together. This duet will be on both the good day and also the bad day, because yes it is that great.
Sarah Joyce’s duet with me will be on the good day as well, ’cause she can make up for how bad I sound.
Then the duets from Me and Hannibal will be on the bad category day since that is firmly where we belong.
This means there will be two special performances on Friday’s good category stream, and two on Saturday’s bad category stream with a repeat of Blurry and Jeson’s duet as well on day 2.

Content Warning

We are normally a comedy gaming stream, but for this we are replacing the gaming part with music. We are quite R rated simply because this is how we are as humans, and we don’t change on stream. We tell jokes, we have some drinks, and most of all we are about having a good time. If you don’t normally listen to our streams, just let the regulars in chat ease you into our craziness. The whole point is to have fun, so grab your drink of choice, stop by, and join us for the wild ride of a BSG Singing Competition.
We won’t be consuming drinks on day 1 of the stream as that is for the good category singers, but on day two once we listen to the final good category duet, then we’ll let it flow and everyone else in chat is encouraged to join us and make this a party to celebrate everyone’s music on the BSG Twitch Page.

As submissions came in I sorted everyone in each category separately. I was optimistic we’d be splitting the stream, so I went ahead and saved future me the extra work. Then after submissions closed I tossed everyone into a list randomizer on random.org, and that is the listening order for the two streams below. This is the locked in listening order for the streams, and it cannot be changed. These are a rare event, so set an alarm or drink some coffee to make sure you don’t miss it.

These are one of the most fun events I’ve ever been a part of, and it is all made possible by all of you who submitted songs to make this happen.
