We have a book club! Yay!
For those who didn’t know now you know. For those who already knew, you can read on for all the info.
We’ve been getting questions about the book club, and figured the best way to answer them all is to have a page that explains everything.
What is it?
It is a semi-private club made up of people who like reading books. We all read the same book then get together and talk about it on team talk.
Who runs the club?
The club was Hannibal’s idea and he does most of the running of it. Smoke does some back end work, but most everything is managed and ran by Hannibal.
When do you guys meet?
Right now we have decided the last Sunday of each month works best, so this is when we meet.
What time are the meetings?
This is a hard question to answer. Right now they are more than likely going to be at 5:00pm or 6:00pm EST on Sundays, but this may change.
What genres of books do you read?
This is the best thing about us. Each month those who would like to pick a book say so. Hannibal then does a random drawing to choose the person who gets to pick a book each month. This ensures everyone has a chance to pick a genre they like, and we always have a good variety.
What are the rules?
The rules are pretty self-explanatory.
We are only here to talk about books, the world has a tendency to suck. Because of this we don’t talk about any of that stuff, only books and book related topics.
Be nice, don’t be a jerk to anyone and respect people’s opinions about books. If someone strongly dislikes a book it doesn’t mean they don’t like you, just the book.
Read the book, yeah that might be obvious but who knows. If you don’t read the book just say you didn’t read it.
No one has to talk at meetings. If you want to read the book then show up and just listen to the conversation that is fine. We’ll never require anyone to talk or do anything. Everyone is free to participate in conversations as much or as little as they want.
How do you communicate?
Right now throughout the month we talk on Skype, but this may change to Discord in the future. Discord is 100% accessible and easy to use, so don’t be afraid. The meetings themselves are held on team talk.
